A field of 46 players bought into the Sunday edition of the High Roller Club Main Event, a $25,500 buy-in affair with a seven-figure guarantee. The top six finishers won a share of the $1,150,000 prize pool, with our hero Haxton banking the largest sum of the weekend.
Some of the world’s elite grinders entered this tournament but left empty-handed. These included Russian man of the moment Artur Martirosian, Germany star Ole Schemion, and partypoker LIVE regular Sam Greenwood. Estonia’s Aleksejs Ponakovs was the unfortunate soul who finished in seventh place, bursting the money bubble, and locking up $57,500 for the six surviving players.
Blom First Main Event Player to Cash
Swedish legend Viktor Blom was the first Main Event player to see a return on their investment. Blom came unstuck in sixth-place for $57,500 when he pushed under the gun for five big blinds with and Haxton called on the button with . The board was no help for Blom and his tournament ended.
George Wolff busted in fifth for $80,500 after losing a battle of the blinds with Wiktor Malinowkski. Malinowski raised all in from the small blind with and Wolff called off his remaining 10 big blinds with . An ace on the flop was enough to reduce the player count by one.
Malinowski was the next player to fall despite picking up Wolff’s stack. It was something of a cooler hand for a four-handed table that sent Malinowski home. Malinowski raised to 3,000,000 on the button leaving himself a shade over 600,000 chips behind. He made the raise with . Sergi Reixach called in the small blind with . A flop saw Reixach jam and Malinowski call in what was a very expensive cooler hand.
You need a lot of luck to win a poker tournament and Haxton must have known this as his event when he sent Pascal Lefrancois home in third in dramatic circumstances. Haxton open-shoved from the small blind with and Lefrancois called off his last 15 big blinds with the dominating . Lefrancois looked set for a double when the flop fell . The turn gave Haxton outs to a diamond flush, but it was the that improved his hand and sent his Canadian opponent to the showers.
Haxton and Reixach Lock Horns Heads-Up
Haxton held a 31,209,500 to 14,790,500 lead over Reixach going into the one-on-one battle with blinds at 200,000/400,000/50,000a. Despite this, it still took more than an hour to settle the tournament.
The final hand saw Haxton set Reixach all-in for his last 4.25 big blinds with and the UK-based Spaniard called with . A final board reading sealed the deal for Haxton and he bagged a cool $437,000 leaving Reixach to secure the $287,500 runner-up prize.

Haxton went on to cash in the $5,200 buy-in $1 million guaranteed Big Game. Some 229-players were involved on the final day and 32 of those won at least $11,049.
Former MILLIONS Online champion Jon Van Fleet was the bubble boy in this event, paving the way for the likes of Patrick Leonard, Josip Simunic, Niklas Astedt, Christian Jeppsson, and Artur Martirosian to cash.
Wiktor Malinowski reached the Main Event final table and this event’s too. The German won $24,436 for his eighth-place exit. Haxton then fell by the wayside in seventh for $32,936. Haxton’s teammate, Dzmitry Urbanovich, managed to hold firm until fifth-place, which netted him $58,435.
Eventually, Pablo Brito Silva of Brazil, winner of the partypoker LIVE South America Main Event and the 2020 Irish Open Online Main Event, defeated Andrew Pantling heads-up for the title and the $216,635 top prize.

Badziakouski Second in the Mix-Max
Haxton almost cashed again when he entered the $10,300 Mix-Max 2nd Chance, but he was the unfortunate bubble boy, busting in 10th. His fellow Team partypoker member Jason Koon banked a $23,636 prize, while Reixach and Blom also cashed.
By the time heads-up was reached, Mikita Badziakouski and Thomas Muehloecker were both guaranteed six-figure hauls. Sadly, for Badziakouski at least, he had to make do with the smaller $146,250 runner-up prize. This meant Muehloecker banked the $224,840 top prize only a couple of weeks after triumphing in the Big Game!
